WHEREAS, Alfred J. Forman Sr. was born in Washington, DC. On April 27, 1947; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Forman attended Arlington County Public Schools and Graduated from Washington-Lee High School; and
WHEREAS, for 25 years Mr. Forman served Arlington County as a Sports Coordinator for the Langston-Brown Community Center organizing youth and adult athletic teams; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his role as the Sports Coordinator for Langston-Brown he also volunteered for community events such as the Halloween Party, dressing up as Santa Claus for Breakfast with Santa and driving Senior Residents on scheduled trips; and
WHEREAS, in his capacity as a youth basketball coach his teams won more than ten Arlington County Championships; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Forman was a member of the Virginia White Sox baseball team for 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Forman coordinated and officiated the High View Park/Halls Hill community annual Turkey Bowl for more than 40 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Forman served the Arlington County Sports Commission for 10 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Forman died on January 10, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Libby Garvey, Chair of the County Board, Arlington, Virginia, do hereby proclaim that

was an outstanding public servant and we honor him for his devotion to Arlington County, and extend our sympathy and condolences to Mr. Forman’s Family.
